"Fixin To Get Ready"
Hi There!
If you're reading this then you are a friend or family member of either me, Debbie or Robin and have been included so you can share our Costa Rican adventure with us that will start on February 4th if you crazy enough to want to follow a blow by blow account of three women chasing monkeys around a 3rd world country.
I'm predicting that my family will finally start reading this about the 7th day that I'm gone when they've had their seventh night of take out, there is no food in the refrigerator, and they could care less what I'm doing in Costa Rica, but are trying to figure out when I'm coming home because they all deleted the itinerary I emailed them.
How did we get here? I think Deb and I have talked about a girls trip for as long as I can remember. Years came and passed, but we swore that no matter what, we would pull it together for our 50th and here were are, about a week away.
At this point I have to share that my mom gave "adventure vacation" a whole new meaning when she questioned why I would ever want to willingly divulge what we will be doing in Costa Rica. "Isn't it like - what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?" She asked. "What if you meet Juan(s)?" So if there is a day or two that is blog-less, we can leave you all wondering about Juans.
And I have to say that the "fixin to get ready" stage has been quite the adventure itself and may be the most stressful part of the trip for me. I've never been on an "adventure" trip before and have been guided by Dr Deb master traveler to procure the appropriate "adventure clothing". I won't fess up to all the apparel, equipment and accessories that I'm bringing, but suffice it to say I did buy a rather large light weight suitcase to handle the massive pile accumulating on my bedroom floor.
Can't wait to share our adventures!
